Notts Outlaws 147-8 (Will Smith 51, Read 44*)
Derbyshire Phantoms 151-6 (Ealham 2-24)
Derbyshire Phantoms won by four wickets
We fell to our fifth defeat in the competition despite a thrilling maiden half-century from Will Smith after the 22-year-old was promoted up the order to number three and skipper Fleming was impressed with what he saw.
Said Fleming: ?Smith has been hitting the ball well in all the matches and he took his chance in this game perfectly.
?We?ve also seen Samit Patel take steps forward with bat and ball over the course of the competition and Smith has now shown what he can do too.
?We?ve seen glimpses of talent from all the players over the past two weeks and with the younger lads the more time in the middle they get will only make them better.
?While we haven?t been getting the results we would have liked, every game has given us something to learn.
?We are short of where we need to be in one-day cricket but we are gathering information for the future and drawing lines in the sand from which we can build.?
