Nottinghamshire CCC have appointed Derek Brewer as their new chief executive in succession to David Collier.
Brewer is currently Regional Director of Royal Bank of Scotland Commercial Banking in the East Midlands and will not be available to take up his new post until the start of June.
Said Notts chairman Barry Pailing: "Derek was the outstanding candidate when we were searching for someone to replace David Collier after he moved to the ECB and we are delighted he will be joining us.
"His commitments with Royal Bank of Scotland will make him unavailable to us for another couple of months. In the meantime, the club is in good hands with Lisa Pursehouse as acting chief executive and we feel it is well worth the wait because of the qualities he will bring to us.
"Enormous strides have been made at Trent Bridge in recent years - on and off the field - and we firmly believe that Derek is the man to carry us forward."
Brewer, 46, lives in Grantham but has worked in Nottingham for the past seven years and is already well acquainted with the affairs of Trent Bridge.
He explained: "I?ve been a Nottinghamshire member for many years and have also been a frequent visitor to Trent Bridge in a business capacity because NatWest, one of our brands, are the club?s bankers and are also one of cricket?s major partners.
"I have some unfinished business to attend to - hence the fact that I will not be moving until the start of June - and I must admit that it will be a wrench to leave because I have been extremely happy in my time with the bank.
"But opportunities of this nature don?t come around too often and I am thrilled to be joining Nottinghamshire at a very exciting period in their long and distinguished history.
"Although the club is in very good shape at present, there is always scope for improvement and I am already aware that there are a number of big issues which need to be tackled."
A former captain of Berkshire Under-19s, Brewer also played for British Universities and Warwickshire 2nd XI and ran the Grantham Under-13 team last summer.
