With captains Stephen Fleming and David Fulton agreeing to set up a final day run-chase, Harris stepped up with a season?s best haul to set us on our way to celebrations at Canterbury.
But the 32-year-old still needed convincing by his team-mates that we had in fact won the title as they walked off the pitch.
He said: ?I can?t comprehend it. I wasn?t even sure if we had won it when we had taken the final wicket. I asked the lads as we walked off and got a resounding yes but I still can?t believe it.
?When we arrived in the morning Stephen Fleming said to all of us that he wanted to set Kent a target and he had every faith that we would bowl them out in the day.
?I was the man who got the rewards today but the whole bowling unit has worked very hard to get us there. We?ve kept on bowling sides out and winning matches.
?The ball started reverse swinging for me and I was able to use the slope as well to test out the batsmen. Getting Martin van Jaarsveld out was the key wicket and when Greg Smith picked him up just before tea, we were in the box seat.
?I would have loved to taken the last wicket but I was almost dead on my feet. I just wanted us to get the win and it?s unbelievable that we?ve managed it.?
Jason Gallian?s second innings of 199 this season set us up for victory, and although we lost much of day two to rain we were still in a strong position going into the final day?s play.
Kent needed a win to stay in the title race and Fleming set them 430 to win in 70 overs, with Mark Ealham catching Niall O?Brien at gully off Greg Smith to confirm the Championship trophy would be coming back to Trent Bridge.
