Coach Paul Johnson is confident a spell with the World Cricket Academy in Mumbai will prove a real boost to our Academy players.
Johnson is currently in India along with Academy director Chris Tolleyto coach the youngsters, as well as senior left-arm spinners Rob Ferleyand Samit Patel.
And he’s been hugely impressed by the facilities at the world-famousspin school, saying: “We’ve seen some good, hard work from the boys, who are all in good spirits, and I think that’s got a lot to do withthe nets and coaches here.
“The stadium here has held Test Matches, and the surfaces are excellentfor training - everything you need is on site and I can’t speak highlyenough about it.
“We’ve had good nets sessions and the local coaches went through someinteresting fielding drills. It was interesting from my point of viewto watch them at work, using different coaching techniques to myselfand Toll while still getting the same idea across.
“I think the benefits of the trip are already clear and hopefully it can help everyone push on further.”
