Players switched bats for shin-pads yesterday when they had a football training session with Notts County coach Mike Whitlow.
Notts County do some of their fitness work at Roko gym, where our players also train, and after assistant manager Wayne Noon met Whitlow there in the winter, they decided to arrange an hour's training.
Said Noon: "We got chatting about different training ideas and he offered to run a session with us.
"We were happy to take it up as it gave the players the chance to do something away from cricket, which offered a break from the normal routine.
"With our links with Nottingham RFC through Lady Bay, I had already done a session with their players in the winter.
"Hopefully once we return from our week in Portugal, we can also have some time with the rugby coaches as well."
