Graeme Swann took time out from his preparations for the England tour of New Zealand this weekend to make his debut on stage.

The 28-year-old was the star attraction as his new band Dr Comfort and the Lurid Revelations entertained a packed Southbank Bar on Trent Bridge.

Lead singer Swann formed the band with Notts Cricket Development Officer Eddie Burke and former Notts stalwart Andy Afford, now editor of All Out Cricket magazine.

The band performed a number of cover versions and received plenty of support from staff and players past and present at Notts, including the likes of Stuart Broad, Ryan Sidebottom, Mick Newell, Jason Gallian, Russell Warren, Guy Welton, Richard Logan and Stephen Randall.

Rumours of talent scouts being present and a possible recording contract have so far not been confirmed.
