Trent Bridge is set for an exciting start to the ICC World Twenty20 following two successful days of warm-up fixtures earlier this week.
The double-headers on Monday and Tuesday enabled staff to assess the organisation and operation of facilities, and they are now eagerly waiting for the tournament to get started on Saturday when a packed ground is expected for the sell-out game between reigning champions India and Bangladesh.
Notts Deputy Chief Executive Lisa Pursehouse said: “Holding two days of warm-up matches was extremely useful, as it enabled us to test our operational systems and ensure things run smoothly ahead of the tournament itself.
“The process of having fans move in and out of the ground for different games on the same day, hosting four teams and the extra dressing rooms required, as well as using the training facilities at Lady Bay, has meant that all staff, stewards and volunteers know what to expect over the next two weeks.
“Most importantly, we've had good feedback from all the spectators during the warm-ups. They have enjoyed themselves and that's absolutely fundamental.
“Take-up from fans across the East Midlands has been very good and we're all set for a very special fortnight. Not only will spectators get to enjoy all the on-field action, but Saturday's game will also be the first appearance of the entertainment around the stands, with a DJ on stage and dancers.
“We're all looking forward to welcoming supporters to Trent Bridge and can't wait for the tournament to get started.”
More than 10,000 fans were at Trent Bridge over the course of the two days and ticket sales have been very strong for the tournament itself.
As well as the opening game on Saturday, the double header for Tuesday June 16 is also sold out, which is expected to feature New Zealand against Sri Lanka and South Africa playing India.
Seats are still available for all the remaining fixtures at Trent Bridge, although in limited numbers for Tuesday 11 June, which could feature England in a Super 8 fixture, as well as semi-finals day on Thursday 18 June.
Supporters attending Saturday's game can expect a smooth trip to the ground by using a shuttle bus service running from the Cornerhouse to Trent Bridge via Market Hill and Nottingham Station at a cost of just £1 each way.
A park and ride service is also available, from Queen's Drive to the Embankment for £4 per car. Full details can be found here.
Tickets for all tournament fixtures are now on sale from the official ICC website and the ticket hotline 0844 847 2020.
You can also purchase tickets from the Trent Bridge Ticket Office on 0870 168 8888.
