Scorecard
Nottinghamshire strengthened their position at the top of the LV County Championship with a 191-run victory over Hampshire at the Rose Bowl to go 10 points clear of the chasing pack.
Seamer Darren Pattinson was the hero with 4-53 as Hampshire were bowled out for 220 on the final day chasing 412 to win, with the remaining wickets shared around the Notts attack.
Resuming on 9-1, Pattinson struck early to remove nightwatchman James Tomlinson and Charlie Shreck followed up in the following over by trapping Michael Carberry leg before.
That left Hampshire 14-3 and while 18-year-old James Vince scored freely to push the scoreboard on, the dismissal of Michael Lumb caught and bowled by Samit Patel just before lunch maintained the momentum.
And when Chris Benham edged Luke Fletcher to Chris Read after the interval, the writing appeared on the wall.
Vince handed Fletcher his second wicket with a catch for Adam Voges, whose left-arm spin accounted for Sean Ervine.
Hampshire skipper Nic Pothas showed some defiance with an unbeaten 63 but was helpless as the tail of Dominic Cork, David Griffiths and Imran Tahir were swiftly despatched to leave Notts sitting pretty with three wins and two draws from their first five Championship matches.
