Big-hitting Notts Outlaws batsman Ali Brown admits that Graham Napier’s record 152 not out in the Twenty20 Cup is going to prove a tough nut to crack - but that the conditions are there for it to happen.

Twenty20 Cup partners totesport are offering to donate £100 per run to any player who manages to beat Napier’s score during this year’s tournament.

The Essex all-rounder smashed 16 sixes in his 58-ball innings against Sussex last season, and Brown said: “I watched the second half of the innings on television and by that stage you could tell he was in and playing without any fear.

“His foot movement was excellent and it didn’t seem to matter where the ball was bowled, it was still going for six.

“To score a Twenty20 hundred you need get in, get a few shots safely away to the boundary and then to be fearless and fully commit to your shots.”

If the record is not broken, totesport will give £5,000 to the player who makes the highest score in this year’s competition, with the money donated to a charity of the player’s choice.

And Brown added: “All records are there to be broken, but beating ‘Napes’ will take a good effort. You’d need a good wicket, small boundaries and to be batting in the top three so you could face the maximum number of deliveries.

“It’s the kind of record you could see someone like Marcus Trescothick beat, playing at Taunton. There’s a lot of runs to score and very quickly - and I can’t see it going quickly.”

Advance tickets are available online here and cost £12 for adults and £7 for juniors and senior citizens, while a family of two adults and two children can get in for just £31.

Advance tickets must be purchased by 4pm the day before each match takes place, while seats for the games on Monday and Sunday must be bought by 1pm the Saturday before.

Alternatively you can buy a special week pass directly from the Trent Bridge Ticket Office on 0870 168 8888 before 1pm on Saturday June 20, which entitles you to entry for all four games.

The week passes cannot be bought online and cost £40 for adults, £24 for juniors and senior citizens and £106 for a family of two adults and two children.
