Director of Cricket Mick Newell hopes to conclude negotiations with a second overseas player to join the Outlaws for the revamped Friends Provident T20 after the domestic fixture is confirmed this week.
Nottinghamshire’s fixtures will be revealed on the club’s official website at 11am on Thursday morning giving Newell the information he needs to confirm the availability of potential targets.
Keen to recruit a fast bowler with a good Twenty20 record, Newell has keenly watched the Indian Premier League and the Champions League to pinpoint players who can add value to the team.
"It is not just when Notts play games that matters, but when other international teams play as well, which may well clash," said Newell.
"Our preferred option would be a fast bowler but it very much depends on England's games and if Ryan Sidebottom will be available to us for a decent portion of the competition.
"Then there are also the neutral Tests between Pakistan and Australia to consider. If they clash with our games, then that means a whole host of Pakistani and Australian players would be unavailable.
"We are due to get our fixtures on Thursday and we are hoping we might be in a position to finalise our second overseas player by the end of November."
Notts Outlaws will play eight home Friends Provident Twenty20 games in 2010.
