Academy captain Scott Elstone has been included in the Notts Outlaws squad to face Scottish Saltires at Trent Bridge on Sunday (play starts 1.45pm).
Steven Mullaney is out but could feature against Warwickshire on Thursday having made good progress in his recovery from an ankle injury.
Mark Wagh hasn’t forced his way into contention and other notable absentees include Andre Adams, Charlie Shreck and Neil Edwards who has returned to net practice after five weeks out with a broken hand.
The Outlaws’ top six will be keen to demonstrate good form ahead of Saturday’s Friends Provident t20 finale at The Rose Bowl.
Scotland have a clean bill of health aside from batsman Neil McCallum who is definitely out. They have already beaten Leicestershire Foxes in the Clydesdale Bank 40 this season but were undone by Graeme White’s haul of 5-35 when Notts completed a 43-run victory in May.
Notts Outlaws (from): Alex Hales, Ali Brown, Matt Wood, David Hussey, Samit Patel, Chris Read (C/W), Scott Elstone, Paul Franks, Graeme White, Darren Pattinson, Luke Fletcher, Ryan Sidebottom
