David Hussey has backed Nottinghamshire to push hard for LV= County Championship glory having played the final match of his latest stint at Trent Bridge.
Hussey will depart this weekend having been asked to lead Victoria’s Champions League challenge after regular skipper Cameron White elected to represent Bangalore Royal Challengers.
His contribution of 399 LV= County Championship runs at an average of 73.4 was helped by a high score of 251 against Yorkshire at Headingley and he contributed 524 runs to the Outlaws’ Friends Provident t20 campaign.
“I’ve had a great time here and I’ll definitely be back at some point in the future,” said Hussey.
“It’s a great dressing room to be part of and that’s been helped by the fact that we’ve pushed so hard in all three competitions.”
Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell expects to sign a replacement overseas player in time for his side’s Clydesdale Bank 40 match against Leicestershire in two weeks time with Steven Mullaney expected to fill the void during next week’s LV= County Championship match against Lancashire
