David Hussey continued his purple patch with an assertive 80 as Notts kept in touch with top of the table Warwickshire with a 75-run win over Scotland.
Warwickshire visit Trent Bridge on Thursday and will provide a much sterner test although Notts should be satisfied by the clinical manner of their victory.
"It was a routine victory because our bowling was good and our fielding was sharp," said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
"We know that David Hussey is always going to score his fair share of runs but what's pleasing is that he manages to do it in pressure situations."
Samit Patel’s 48 and an unbroken sixth wicket stand of 55 between Chris Read and Clydesdale Bank 40 debutant Scott Elstone helped the Outlaws set Scotland a victory target of 261 which was always beyond them.
"Scott played nicely and managed to hit singles of his first three balls and feed the strike to the other batsman which is what we wanted to see," said Newell.
"He's a good option if we find ourselves without a middle order batsman because he's prepared to score from his first ball and offers an all-round contribution."
Visiting openers Watts and Momsen eased their side to 51 without loss but a triple strike from Paul Franks helped reduce them to 65-4 and their hopes quickly faded.
