Ryan Sidebottom has been included in Nottinghamshire’s team squad to face Yorkshire at Headingley.
Sidebottom bowled in the nets yesterday afternoon to demonstrate that he had recovered from the knee strain that kept him out of Nottinghamshire’s defeat at Taunton.
Matthew Wood keeps his place after a first innings 72 against Somerset.
Steven Mullaney is definitely out having injured his ankle during the warm-up at Somerset but will travel to Headingley for intensive physio in a bid to prove his fitness for Friends Provident t20 Finals Day.
“We’ve been inconsistent in recent matches and there haven’t been enough sizable contributions from our top five batsmen,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“Clearly any team winning this match would gain ad advantage but our approach won’t change because we’re playing against the team at the top of the table.
“Yorkshire have produced some flat pitches at Headingley and some of their batsmen have capitalised on that but the bowling attacks will be strong particularly if Bresnan and Shahzad are available to them.”
