Nottinghamshire opener Matt Wood will coach Plumtree CC next season as he continues to work towards his ECB level four coaching certificate.
Wood represented the team in last season’s Nottinghamshire Premier League campaign but must inspire his players to target a return to the top tier after they were relegated to the South Nottinghamshire League.
“When I first joined Nottinghamshire I was impressed by the way the county side supported local cricket and encouraged all of the players to play in the Premier league,” said Wood.
“Plumtree is one of those cricket clubs that you get involved with and then find it very hard to leave.
“The surroundings are idyllic and it’s a picture perfect village cricket club with a great atmosphere.”
Wood will work with players from all ten of Plumtree’s teams with a specific focus on the transition of players from age group to senior teams.
