Stuart Broad took two wickets in front of his home supporters as England cantered to a six victory at Trent Bridge.
Bangladesh won the toss and batted to 250-9 after fifty overs but an opening stand of 75 between Andrew Strauss and Craig Kieswetter and a standout 84 from recalled batsman Iain Bell helped to see England home.
Broad had Bangladeshi danger man Tamim Iqbal lbw for 28 to interrupt the tourists’ opening stand. Raqibul, handed a runner after a foot injury, scored a fine 76 before his hired help jumped the gun and had him ran out.
Bresnan bowled Abdul Razzak with the final ball of the innings before England set about their run chase in determined fashion. Kieswetter (32), Collingwood (33) and Morgan (23) made decent contributions but fittingly, Bell hit the winning runs in the 46th over.
"I need to keep knocking on the door and I enjoyed every minute of my innings today," said the Warwickshire batsman.
"The England line-up has been fantastic for 12 months but I felt confident in my abuility to come into the side and express myself."
The match will go down in history as the first to be broadcast in 3D.
