Ryan Sidebottom, David Hussey and Dirk Nannes will all feature in an unchanged line-up when Notts Outlaws face Lancashire at Old Trafford on Wednesday (play starts 5.30pm).
Notts are already assured of a place in the quarter-finals of the Friends Provident t20 and need to secure two points from their remaining three matches to guarantee a home tie.
“Plan A is to secure a home quarter-final by winning at Old Trafford and to go into our final two home games with the pressure off but that won’t be easy,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“Lancashire have a similar makeup to us in that they’re a youthful fielding unit with good depth to their bowling and they will provide tough opposition.”
Newell believes that spin spells in the middle overs could prove decisive and has backed the ability of captain David Hussey to reinforce Samit Patel and Graeme White.
“There are a lot of bowling options on our team and David will turn to who he thinks is the best option in any given situation,” said Newell.
“He doesn’t rate his bowling in Twenty20 matches as highly as I do but he’s made an impact when he brought himself on and spin could be an important factor on a used pitch at Old Trafford.”
