Nottinghamshire bowler Ryan Sidebottom took two wickets as England beat Australia to be crowned ICC World Twenty20 Champions.
Sidebottom was one of five Notts players to feature in the match with Graeme Swann claiming the prized wicket of Michael Clarke.
David Hussey, who will join Notts in early June, top-scored for Australia with 59 before he was athletically caught by Stuart Broad.
Needing 148 runs to win, Craig Kieswetter (63) and Kevin Pietersen (47) helped England cruise to their target with three overs to spare.
“I’ve had a great week and it’s due to the efforts of all of the lads”, said Kevin Pietersen who scored 238 runs in the tournament.
“It’s so good to be part of a dressing room where everybody works hard and is deserving of this success.
“This team is hungry for success and we work hard and strive for success in every training session.
“Playing against Australia is never easy because they have got some fantastic bowlers. You have to try and target every bowler and we got the better of them today.”
Dirk Nannes was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 14 and will arrive in Nottinghamshire on Wednesday to train with his new team mates ahead of the Friends Provident t20.
