Nottinghamshire players Ryan Sidebottom, Graeme Swann and Stuart Broad will today learn who they will face in the final of the ICC World Twenty20 having booked their place with an emphatic win over Sri Lanka.
The bowling trio were all amongst the wickets with Broad returning 2-21 to lead England’s charge. David Hussey and Dirk Nannes will increases the Notts contingent in the final to five if they can overcome Pakistan in their semi-final this afternoon.
"Everyone would love an England versus Australia final, but we have to give a lot of respect to Pakistan too, so we'll have to wait and see," said England captain Paul Collingwood.
"We are just happy to be in the final - but we haven't won anything yet
"I am going to keep drilling that into the guys - we haven't won anything yet, but we've got ourselves into a position to win. That's a thing I'm delighted about."
The final of the ICC World Twenty20 begins at 3.30pm on Sunday.
