Nottinghamshire bowler Charlie Shreck has joined Kent on a month’s loan.
Shreck is expected to go straight into the Kent team to face Essex at Chelmsford when the LV= County Championship season begins tomorrow.
The Cornishman took 18 wickets in five LV= County Championship appearances in an injury-hit 2010 campaign.
“Charlie has made excellent progress in his rehabilitation but he would have started the season in our Second Eleven and the opportunity to play four-day cricket with Kent is ideal for him at this stage of the season,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“He is still very much part of our plans and if he can hone his form and fitness with Kent then he can perform a role for us when he returns to Trent Bridge in May.”
Nottinghamshire will begin their campaign with Paul Franks, Andre Adams, Darren Pattinson, Ben Phillips, Luke Fletcher and Andy Carter vying for places in the pace attack and Shreck hopes to challenge for a place when his loan spell expires.
He said: "I’m grateful to Kent for providing me with an opportunity to play first team cricket and my aim is to make a positive contribution in their early fixtures and to return to Notts in good form.”
