Andre Adams has re-affirmed his commitment to Nottinghamshire by signing a two year contract extension which will keep him at Trent Bridge until the end of the 2013 season.
Adams was the leading wicket taker in the LV= County Championship last season, helping Nottinghamshire to secure their first trophy since 2005.
“Andre has been excellent for us and we’re very happy that he has decided to sign a new deal to lead our bowling attack,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“He’s a winner and a very determined player and we were very keen to give him the opportunity to commit to us as soon as he felt ready to do so.”
Former club captain Stephen Fleming recommended Adams as a short-term replacement for David Hussey and would later tell the Notts dressing room that he had underestimated his ability as a cricketer when he put his name forward.
He made his Nottinghamshire debut in 2007 having spent time in the area prior to that as an overseas professional for Kimberley CC.
“Andre has an affinity for the club and his reasoning was never about money but about lifestyle and his family,” said Newell.
“He enjoys county cricket and we’re a better team for having him around.”
