Notts Premier League
Kiveton Park 170-4 (35 overs) lost to Notts Academy 172-1 (22.5 overs) by 9 wickets
Notts Academy 17pts Kiveton Park 4pts
Driving up the motorway to Kiveton in torrential rain, one would have laid bets on a quick return with no play possible. However north Notts seemed to have escaped the worst of it and play was able to start at 2.23pm giving each side 35 overs to bat.
Notts won the toss and inserted the home team who made reasonable progress on what turned out to be a good pitch for batting.
Chris Hadley (59) and Matthew Cartwright (52)) not out were the main scorers. They were contained by some accurate bowling from Bobby Gamble and Andrew Parkin-Coates and spinners Adam Dobb and Adam Tillcock bowled tidily taking a wicket apiece.
Despite the early loss of Tom Rowe the game was over within 80 minutes as Scott Elstone, enjoying a rare appearance for the Academy, and Ollie Swann smote the home attack to all parts to bring victory with 12.1 overs to spare
Elstone scored 85 with two sixes and fourteen fours from 65 balls whilst for the second successive match Swann batted well for his 65 from 50 balls including 46 in boundaries.
