Neil Edwards, Paul Franks, Andre Adams and Charlie Shreck will return to competitive action when Nottinghamshire face Lancashire at Trent Bridge in the LV= County Championship.
The four-day fixture provides a brief respite from Friends Life t20 action with Notts firmly established as the leaders of the North Group.
Notts have suffered three consecutive defeats in the LV= County Championship and will look to rectify their fortunes with four changes to the side which lost to Worcestershire at New Road.
Mark Wagh’s retirement sees Alex Hales return to the number three spot, seen as his long-term place in the side, whilst David Hussey replaces Adam Voges.
Fit-again Neil Edwards will form a new look opening partnership with Riki Wessels and Darren Pattinson, the leading wicket-taker in the Friends Life t20, is rested to make room for Luke Fletcher.
“Paul Franks, Andre Adams and Charlie Shreck are nicely rested but they played for our second eleven last week and we hope that their freshness will helps us to make a quick adjustment for four-day cricket,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“The adjustment will be harder for the batsmen who will have to change their mindset very quickly but Lancashire are faced with the same challenge.”
Lancashire are second in Division One with five wins in seven outings with Notts lying sixth with three wins, three defeats and a draw.
