Rikki Wessels delivered an assured performance to help build what proved to be an unassailable lead as Notts Outlaws extended their winning start in the Friends Life t20 to three matches.

His 43-ball 70 included a partnership of 61 with Adam Voges as Notts Outlaws posted 193-7 after winning the toss and batting.

“Our top six is as good as any in the world at the moment and you’d back us every time if we make a good start,” said Wessels.

“It’s always nice to get one up on a side and we got a mental edge by posting a big score and bowling them out at home.

“It’s three out of three but it’s still early days in the competition and we need to maintain our standards throughout.”

Warwickshire were pegged back by four solid overs from Luke Fletcher who posted 4-30 on his return to the side whilst Darren Pattinson secured a five-wicket haul to eclipse Richard Logan's record figures for Notts in t20.

Pattinson's 5-25 re-affirmed his standing as one of the Outlaws' most dangerous exponents in this format.

"I could see that the pitch was well worn and I knew that my best tactic would be to mix it up," he said.

"Our batsmen are setting big totals and putting the opposition under pressure and we've been able to capitalise on that."

David Hussey's 56 underpinned the Notts middle order and Warwickshire were behind the rate from two overs into their reply. They were all out for 165 in the final over as Notts Outlaws savoured victory by 28 runs.
