Notts Premier League
Notts Academy (181 all out 47.4 overs) drew with Welbeck Colliery CC (143-8 52 overs)
Notts Academy 16pts / Welbeck Colliery CC 7pts
The Academy batted on winning the toss and were given a good start by Tom Rowe and Sam Kelsall with 58 runs scored from the first ten overs.
The introduction of the slower pace of Rob French and the spin of Jon Ball slowed the scoring rate and produced a crop of wickets for the visitors.
Rowe (43) and Kelsall (25) were both out by the time the score had reached 78 quickly followed by Swann, Wood and Robson who was out with the total at 115-5.
Skipper Andrew Parkin-Coates (50) then held the innings together and was the last man out at 181, he was helped in a stand of 56 for the sixth wicket by Adam Tillcock who scored 16.
Brett Hutton soon had Welbeck at 10-2 as he dismissed Higgins and French for ducks but Martyn Dobson proved to be a stumbling block for the home side as he played a similar role to that of his fellow skipper.
Confusion also reigned on the overs available as rain during the Academy innings had resulted in the match becoming a timed game.
The umpires ruled that 52 overs were available to the. When Hutton had Dobson leg before for 67 with the score on 123-7, they settled for keeping the bowlers at as they ended on 143-8. Brett Hutton returned 3-20 from 11 overs
