Ali Brown will return to the fold for Notts Outlaws’ Clydesdale Bank 40 match against Unicorns ahead of a probable recall for next week’s LV= County Championship match against Warwickshire.
Academy duo Sam Wood and Sam Kelsall are also named in a 13-man squad.
Notts are without England duo Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann but Darren Pattinson will return to competitive action after hamstring problems.
Notts Captain Chris Read has played at picturesque Wormsley before, back in 1996 for Devon against the Netherlands. The ground, which is situated on Sir Paul Getty’s Estate, inevitably revives pleasant memories for him because in his only previous appearance there, he scored 110.
“I played against Holland who were over for a warm-up game ahead of a NatWest Trophy fixture,” he said.
“I remember it being a stunning ground, a beautiful day and a very, very good wicket for cricket.
“We will underestimate the Unicorns at our peril because they proved any doubters wrong last season by playing good cricket and some of their lads went on to get contracts with counties. That’s also the target for the current team and they will be looking to show off their talents against us.”
Wormsley is located at Stokenchurch in Buckinghamshire near junction 5 of the M40. Supporters wishing to attend the match can buy tickets on the gate, priced at £15 for adults, £7.50 and just £1 for under 16s. Gates open at 12.00pm for a 1.45pm start.
Notts Outlaws squad to face Unicorns: Akhil Patel, Mark Wagh, Samit Patel, Adam Voges, Ali Brown, Chris Read, Sam Wood, Paul Franks, Ben Phillips, Darren Pattinson, Jake Ball, Luke Fletcher, Sam Kelsall
