Second Eleven Championship
Day 1 of 3
Worcestershire 259-6

Notts lost the toss but started well with Jake Ball dismissing Worcester captain Jack Manuel with the eighth ball of the day. Darren Pattinson then had Wheeldon caught by Academy keeper Matthew Cross making his second team debut.
The the rain came at 23-2 and when play resumed at just after 4pm, George Bacon claimed two wickets in quick succession and Matthew Cross took a fine diving catch to dismiss former Academy player Ben McGuire off Pattinson to leave the visitors on 59-5.
Progress was then held up by a partnership of 172 from Neil Pinner and the top scorer in the Trophy game, Brett D'Oliveira, which was only broken half an hour before the close when Jake Ball deflected a straight drive from Pinner on to the stumps to have D'Oliveira run out for 59.
Pinner went on to finish the day unbeaten on 116 with his century coming from 168 balls with 18 fours.
Bacon finished the day with 2-32 from 12 overs and Darren Pattinson returned 2-58 from 15.
