Second Eleven Championship Day Two
Nottinghamshire 481 Yorkshire 184 & following on 104-1
Nottinghamshire had a dream start to day two of this match as they reduced Yorkshire to 27-6 within 75 minutes.
The catalyst was a superb pick up and direct hit of the stumps at the bowlers end from mid-off by Ali Brown to run out Geldart .
The seventeenth was dramatic to say the least as George Bacon (pictured) claimed wickets with his first, second and fifth balls to dismiss Lees, Lilley and Wainwright all leg before as the batsmen missed full length balls which swung into them.
Akhil Patel had Hodgson caught behind by Shafique and continued to bowl impressively throughout the innings ending with 3-38 from sixteen overs.
Their progress was halted somewhat by a sixth wicket stand of 91 between Eddie Wilson, grandson of former Soccer World Cup winning full back Ray Wilson, who made 57 and Hargreaves with 33. Lee (25) and Sanderson (28 not out) took the final total to 184.
Bacon ended with 3-16 from seven overs and Jake Ball 2-40 from thirteen. Sam Wood claimed the final wicket for figures of 1-31.
With a lead of 297, Notts asked Yorkshire to follow on and immediately had a breakthrough when Ballance was lbw for the second time in the match for four to Brett Hutton.
Notts were unable to make any further breakthrough as Geldart (65) and Lees (29) stayed together until bad light and rain brought the players off with nine overs remaining
