Nottinghamshire Captain Chris Read will attend an evening reception at Downing Street in recognition of his commitment to raising funds and awareness for Bowel Cancer UK.
Read, who will be joined at Number Ten by wife Lou, donated a proportion of the proceeds of his benefit year to the charity he has supported since 2007 in honour of his first cricket coach Trevor Ward who sadly died from the disease.
"I'm a patron of the charity and they have invited me to the reception which recognises the support they have provided since formation 25 years ago," said Read, who ran the New York Marathon for the cause in 2007.
"It's a cause that is close to my heart because of the support I received from Trevor during my years in Paignton and I am hoping to stage another Twenty20 fixture this season to raise more funds."
Read has successfully hosted matches at Car Colston CC with the support of Nottinghamshire teammates in recent years.
