Nottinghamshire duo James Taylor and Samit Patel will miss Nottinghamshire's LV= County Championship game against Middlesex at Trent Bridge having been called up to reprsent England Lions.
Taylor will captain the Lions against West Indies at Northamptonshire's Wantage Road from Thursday 10 May ahead of the tourists' Investec Test Series in England.
“Many of the players included in this squad have worked hard on our overseas tours and training camps over the winter or have shown good early season form," said National Selector Geoff Miller.
"West Indies will no doubt be challenging opposition and this fixture will present an opportunity for players to show that they are capable of taking the next step and representing England at Test level in the future.”
