Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell hopes to capitalise on the availability of his ICC World Twenty20 bound squad members to steal a march on Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
Alex Hales and Michael Lumb are both included in the Notts line-up but the duo will miss the return leg at Trent Bridge along with influential overseas batsman Adam Voges.
Nottinghamshire need a win to put pressure on Warwickshire at the top of division one.
"The points on offer for a win mean that a significant swing will occur if we beat Warwickshire," said Newell.
"Samit aside, we're at full strength which won't be the case at Trent Bridge so we need to take points from this game to make a credible challenge."
Newell will welcome Andre Adams back into the side with one seamer set to miss out after Newell named a 12-man squad.
James Taylor returns to LV= County Championship action at number four.
The first day of play will start at 12 noon given Warwickshire's late return from Scarborough with 6.30pm finishes on days one and two. The second and subsequent days of play will commence at 11am.
