Nottinghamshire Chief Executive Derek Brewer revealed the design of a second replay screen to be built at Trent Bridge ahead of the 2013 season when he addressed members at the club's Annual General Meeting on Monday.
The structure will also house new quarters for the groundstaff and a hospitality suite.
Finance
Chairman of finance, Ray Dawson reported that income rose to £7.86 million for the year ending September 30 2011, a rise of 16 per cent, buoyed by a successful Test against India, one-dayer against Sri Lanka and a home quarter-final in T20. ?
Against that, expenditure rose to £7.19 million, up 11 per cent, which mainly consisted of professional cricket costs, the cricket academy, training, and development, grounds facilities and match expenditure and administration and commercial expenses.
It resulted in a club record surplus of £542,000 before tax (£387,00 after tax).
Dawson said it was important that the cash balance had been increased to £1.74 million.
"It's excellent to report the profits we have seen, but cash is the vital component," he said.
"Many profitable companies go bust because they run out of cash, but we are not in that situation.
"We continue to make finances available to strengthen the squad and challenge for honours on all fronts as well as continuing to invest in Trent Bridge as a venue."
Derek Brewer departure
The club's chief executive Derek Brewer's departure to take up a similar position with the MCC was confirmed for April 27.
Chairman Peter Wright expressed his sincere gratitude for the work Brewer had done in his seven-year tenure.
He particularly thanked him for his work, along with deputy chief executive Lisa Purshouse, in securing the international gold package of games from last year's bidding process.
On Brewer's successor, Wright added: "We are in the process of deciding and hope to make an announcement by the end of March at the absolute latest, but hopefully before that."
Brewer himself said he had been ably assisted by the work of Wright and former chairman Barry Payling, together with the rest of the committee.
He also praised the team effort of his 'magnificent' staff, after taking a standing ovation for his contribution.
Morgan review
The ECB management board are, within the next week, to decide the future schedule of domestic English cricket for 2013, chairman Peter Wright confirmed.
They are considering the findings of the Morgan review set up to look into finding the best way forward.
The review recommended that the County Championship be reduced to 14 matches with at least 14 T20 games over a 12-week period and a return to 50-over cricket in two blocks.
But Wright said Notts were united in their view that the current programme of 16 County Championship matches and 40-over cricket was the best model.
It is a view that has already been expressed by director of cricket Mick Newell and received a wholehearted 'hear, hear' from many members present.
Overseas Aussies
As expected, Adam Voges was announced as the clubs overseas player for 2012, playing from late May through to the end of the season in all competitions.
The Western Australian was signed after it became clear David Hussey would not be available because of international commitments and an approach to VVS Laxman was unsuccessful.
Interestingly, though, director of cricket Mick Newell said Hussey was keen to return to the club, possibly in 2013.
"I'm sure Huss has not played his last game for Notts and he certainly intends bowing out with us for another season," he said.
"If his international career ends this year, which he believes it could do, then he would like to have a swansong here."
Pattinson injury
Notts will not sign a second overseas player for T20 cricket unless Darren Pattinson's injury rules him out of that competition.
The seamer – the club's leading T20 bowler in past two seasons – picked up a stress fracture of the back playing for Victoria in Australia.
Newell confirmed the club are waiting to discover how long he has been ruled out for.
Adam Voges will captain the T20 side, as he did for spells last year, to give four-day and one-day captain Chris Read a breather.
Batting places up for grabs
Neil Edwards, Riki Wessels, Karl Turner and Steven Mullaney have been urged to fight for places in the Notts batting line-up for 2012.
Newell has a clear idea where Michael Lumb, Alex Hales, James Taylor and Samit Patel will fit into the batting order.
But other than that, he is open minded, saying: "Our tour of Barbados will have a big impact on the make-up of our team and I expect to name the same team for our game against Loughborough University as the one that will face Worcestershire in our first competitive match."
Notts begin their 12-day tour of Barbados on March 14, with five other counties also travelling, during which they expect to play six days of cricket.
But England U19 call-ups Brett Hutton, Sam Kelsall and Sam Wood will not be available. They will travel to Australia for a pre-World Cup training camp in March and April for the event to be staged down under in August and September.
