Notts Outlaws' visit to the County Ground for tonight's Friends Life t20 game against the Derbyshire Falcons has been cancelled due to heavy rain.
ECB umpire David Millns carried out an early inspection and judged that the outfield had taken too much water for any realistic prospect of play this evening.
Derbyshire Chief Executive Simon Storey said: “Everybody connected with the Club is bitterly disappointed that we aren’t able to host one of our showpiece matches of the campaign.
“This game was an opportunity to provide an excellent atmosphere and match-day experience to our members and supporters. It would have been great to see the kind of big crowd at the County Ground that has become traditional for this fixture.
“We’re rewarding all those who have purchased a ticket for the game in advance by allowing them entry for two people to any of our forthcoming home matches during the second half of the season.
“These options include a two day match versus South Africa, the Chesterfield Festival of Cricket and two floodlit Clydesdale Bank 40 matches.”
Refunds are also available for ticket holders who do not wish to attend an alternative match. For more details you can contact Derbyshire on 01332 388 101 or by clicking here.
