Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club have appealed for information to assist in the safe return of a bronze statue of legendary fast bowler of Harold Larwood that has been reported missing from Trent Bridge.
The piece is one of six miniature replicas, approximately 50 cm in height, commissioned to commemorate the full size monument of former England and Nottinghamshire fast bowler Larwood which stands in Kirkby town centre.
It disappeared between Tuesday 24 April and Wednesday 2 May.
The distinctive statuette shows Larwood in his delivery stride and was created by Neale Andrew in 2002.
“The statuette isn’t hugely valuable but it has a huge sentimental value to our Club,” said Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club Chief Executive Lisa Pursehouse.
“We put it on display for the benefit of our members and we are determined to get it back and return it to its rightful place – on display in the Trent Bridge Pavilion.”
The statue is bronze on a wooden plinth and any sightings or information leading to its return should be reported to Notts Police by calling 101, or to CrimeStoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555111 quoting incident number 644 from the 4th of May.
