Adam Voges says he's excited to return to Nottinghamshire for his fifth year at the club after a six-week break from cricket.
He hopes he can perform well for Notts after his run of good form domestically.
"I'm probably coming off the back of one of the better domestic seasons I've had back home," the Australian batsman told BBC Radio Nottingham.
"That fills me with a lot of excitement. Hopefully I'm going to bring that over here. A good start is what I'm looking for."
Voges believes that although Notts have had a good start to the season, maintaining that form will be important in the quest to repeat the LV=County Championship triumph of 2010.
"Mick always talks about us playing well in April and May, and then our real challenge is to continue that on especially when we start loosing a few guys to higher honors, England Lions and so forth.
"I'm looking to come in and really make that impact and make sure that the momentum that the guys have built up continues through the middle and latter part of this year.”
Summer signings have also had a massive impact on the squad and Voges believes there is more to come from the likes of James Taylor and Michael Lumb.
"Our batting looks really strong this year and the guys have started well, probably haven't gotten as many batting bonus points as you'd like but we've been winning games and that's the most important thing.
"Once the sun starts to come out and the wickets start to get easier to bat on I think we can make some formidable first innings scores."
