Nottinghamshire Academy will enjoy a top two finish in the Notts Premier League having taken 16 points from a winning draw against league leaders Cuckney.
They must however overhaul a 14 point gap with one round of fixtures to play if they are to win the competition.
A stand of 118 between Sam Wood and Sam Kelsall gave Notts the impetus batting first. Kelsall’s patient 82 underpinned the innings whilst Wood’s 78 was more expansive with 8 fours and 2 sixes in a 72-ball knock.
Wood took a return catch to dismiss Cuckney opener Adam Burgess but Adam Tilcock continued his run of form with the ball returning 2-41 from 9 overs.
Cuckney finished with 199/6 in reply to 268/6.
