Nottinghamshire batsman Neil Edwards has been told that he won’t be offered a new deal at Trent Bridge.
Edwards joined Notts from Somerset in 2010 and marked his LV= County Championship debut against Kent with a fine 85 but endured patchy form and three ball-strike injuries which disrupted his first two seasons.
“Neil ended up playing half a season in each of the three years he has been here without ever really making himself an automatic pick,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“Injuries disrupted him but he had several opportunities in the side and we always hoped he would tie down a place in the top order.
“I sincerely hope that he can find a contract elsewhere and continue his career in cricket.”
Newell confirmed earlier in the week that Scott Elstone and Karl Turner have also been released by the club.
