Nottinghamshire collapsed dramatically on the second day of their LV= county championship match against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge.
The home side began their first innings just before lunch after Yorkshire had made 407 but were blown away in just 35.4 overs, with Steven Patterson and Ryan Sidebottom the chief wicket-takers.
Patterson claimed career-best figures of five for 43 and Sidebottom took four for 35 as Notts were bowled out for just 150.

Following on, 257 behind, they then reached 118 for four when the light had deteriorated sufficiently for play to be called off with seven overs remaining.
Wayne Noon, Nottinghamshire's first team coach, assessed the day.
“We saw scores of 407 all out and 150 all out and I don’t think either of those scores were right on that wicket, so we’re scratching our heads a little bit,” he said.
“We felt that they scored too many. We didn’t make the most of conditions on the first day after sticking them in. Maybe 200 to 250 would have been the par score but that doesn’t disguise the way we’ve batted today.
“We have the second or third highest number of batting points in the division, so we’ve really let ourselves down in this match.”
Nottinghamshire’s first innings response to Yorkshire’s impressive total was soon in disarray as Sidebottom reduced them to 24-2 by lunch.
Alex Hales (0) fell to his former team-mate, edging his sixth delivery through to Jonathan Bairstow. Michael Lumb also failed to get off the mark, as his tentative push forward failed to nullify a leg before wicket appeal.
Notts’ hopes dipped alarmingly in the hour after the restart as they lost six wickets for just 40 runs.
The decision to give Steven Patterson the opening over after the restart paid instant dividends as Steven Mullaney (13) provided Bairstow with another routine take.
Samit Patel (23) brought about some improvised field setting by the visitors, including two short midwickets and the batsman obliged by clipping Sidebottom to one of them, Phil Jaques.
David Hussey (13) and Chris Read (1) were both adjudged to be out lbw against Patterson, with Riki Wessels (4) fishing at Sidebottom to set up the ninth wicketkeeping catch of the match.
Patterson’s fourth wicket came courtesy of another leg before wicket decision, this time accounting for Luke Fletcher (0).
Andre Adams clubbed Liam Plunkett’s first delivery for four and his next into the Hound Road Stand for six but on 78-8 a heavy shower drove the players from the ground and off for an early tea.
Upon the resumption Adams again tucked into Plunkett’s bowling with another maximum, despite the shot being caught over the line by Rashid.
Shahzad hit Patterson for another six but the bowler then responded with his fifth wicket, to give him career-best figures of 5-43.
Adams (39 off 17 balls) hooked Patterson to long leg, where Sidebottom took a difficult catch to end a stand of exactly fifty.
Harry Gurney (4) succumbed to the introduction of spin, hitting Rashid straight to Plunkett at cover.
Batting for a second time Notts again lost cheap wickets. Hales (14) edged Brooks to Bairstow, Mullaney (6) fell lbw to Sidebottom and Lumb (20) drilled a return catch to Plunkett.
Patel (37) batted positively to kickstart a fightback before falling to a leaping one-handed catch by sub fielder Rich Pyrah, again off Plunkett.
Hussey (22 not out) and Wessels (12 not out) kept their wickets intact until stumps.
Earlier in the day Nottinghamshire were made to work hard for the final two Yorkshire wickets. The overnight pair, Bairstow and Patterson extended their stand to 91 for the ninth wicket.
Notts missed out on a third bowling point as the 110th over ended with the pair still together and progressing nicely.
Bairstow reached his fifty (65 balls, 9x4) but then lost his partner soon afterwards. Patterson (40), had withstood a barrage of short-pitched bowling and bravely shrugged off a few blows to the body before falling to Adams. Attempting a square cut, he bottom-edged the ball and fell to a stunning tumbling catch by Read, the fifth occasion he has taken 6 catches in an innings for the county.
Adams wrapped things up quickly as he knocked out Bairstow’s (62) middle stump with the batsman trying to heave towards the leg side.
Fletcher ended with figures of 5-93, Gurney took 3-71 and Adams 2-95.
