Nottinghamshire all-rounder Steven Mullaney has confirmed a return to Australia after Christmas for a six-week stay with Casey South Melbourne.
This will be his second consecutive winter in Melbourne, and his time with Dandenong heralded a much-celebrated season for Mullaney with Notts.
"It’s a very good standard, as good a standard as you can find overseas that isn't first-class cricket,'' said Mullaney.
"There's obviously pressure on coming over and being the overseas player but I really enjoyed that sort of challenge.
"On the field, it's very tough, but off the field everyone was great.''
After being invited back this winter by assistant coach Chris Hall who he played alongside at McKinnon in 2010, Mullaney’s stay will see him available for four two-day matches with the club.
"Coming to Melbourne and working with him has always worked for me,'' he said.
"It seemed pretty stupid not to go back, given the opportunity.
"Hopefully it will benefit me and I can go to another level when I get home.”
Mullaney is set to arrive in Melbourne on January 10, and will stay until February 23.
