Two of the academies brightest young stars shared in a memorable stand for the U17’s versus Staffordshire this week.
Anuj Dal and Dan Freeman came together with the score on 1-1 but that didn’t phase them as they put on 310 for the second wicket.
Freeman eventually fell for 176 but Dal was unmoved and finished his innings on 150.
Academy coach Chris Tolley was delighted with their efforts and said it was a brilliant achievement for the pair.
“You see good partnerships a lot but something like this you don’t see very often,” Tolley said.
“To put on 310 for the second wicket is brilliant but for both batsmen to score 150 in an age group game is unheard off.
“Dal is part of the England Development Programme whilst Dan is a Lincolnshire player so we will see where they go from there.
“They have also both been part of the Midlands Regional squad and both did well with a 50 each so that was pleasing.”
Both the players are also part of the side that will face Plumtree this weekend.
