It has today been revealed that Nottinghamshire batsman Alex Hales has confirmed his return to Australia for this winter’s Big Bash 3, signing for Adelaide Strikers.
This follows on from his appearance in the tournament last winter with Melbourne Renegades, which saw him smash eight sixes and five fours on his debut against the Sydney Sixers.
"I really enjoyed the Big Bash last time around,” said Hales.
“The league is played at a very high standard, and attracts some of the best players in the world.”
"I think we’ll be a force in the tournament this time around.” Alex Hales
Hales will be jetting across to Australia for the tournament alongside some of the finest players in the world. There will be no shortage of quality in Adelaide, who have also announced that Shaun Tait will be wearing their blue shirt this winter.
“Shaun Tait is the fastest bowler in the world, and then there’s the captain, Johan Botha, who is an excellent cricketer,” said Hales.
“There are a number of young, exciting players there too.
“Adelaide were eye catching in the winter, and I think we’ll be a force in the tournament this time around.”
Despite not facing Adelaide Strikers last winter during his time with the Renegades, Hales watched their progress closely from afar as the competition developed.
“I kept in touch with the tournament before going down to join up with Melbourne, it made for excellent viewing,” he said.
“Australia is a great place to play cricket.
“I’ve been out there every winter since I turned 18, and it’s helped me develop as a cricketer, definitely.
“It’s going to be difficult, but it’s a challenge that I’ll relish and it’ll make me a better player.”
