Luke and Sam Wood took seven wickets between them as Nottinghamshire’s Second XI bowled Glamorgan out for 292, before reaching 108-3 in reply by the end of the first day of their Championship match in Cardiff.
Glamorgan won the toss and elected to bat first, but their openers found progress hampered after Brett Hutton had Bragg (13) caught behind by keeper Matt Cross in the fifth over, the score 27-1.
Bacon struck in the 12th, trapping the new man Lancefield LBW for 5 and Luke Wood saw off Walters (44) in the same fashion six overs later, Glamorgan faltering on 71-3.
Ben Wright and Aneurin Donald got the home side back on track, seeing off the remainder of the session and leaving the score 132-3 at lunch.
The pair both reached their 50s after lunch, and took their partnership to 153 before Sam Wood had Donald (72) caught by Rowe in the 59th over.
Wright continued on to make his century but the duo combined again to remove him for an excellent 121, Rowe’s catch this time befitting the end of an accomplished innings.
At 267-5, Glamorgan looked likely to push forward, but the Notts bowlers thought otherwise. Two wickets fell in the 71st, Aaron Todd ran out Lawlor for 12, before Sam Wood had Riazaddin caught behind for no addition. Luke Wood struck with the last ball of the session, bowling Glover for 7, Glamorgan ending the session on 286-8.
The innings lasted just 11 balls after tea, Luke Wood taking both remaining wickets in the 74th. First he trapped Alex Jones (5) and bowled Kieran Bull for a duck. The innings closed on 292, with excellent figures from Luke Wood (4-32) and Sam Wood (3-36).
Nottinghamshire had a minimum of 28 overs to face in the day, Kelsall and Azad opening the innings. The latter fell in the 7th, caught by Bull off Glover for 7. Tom Rowe departed four overs later, trapped by Glover for his second wicket of the innings.
Sam Wood joined Kelsall, and their partnership saw the Notts reply pass the 100 mark, before Salter bowled Wood (29) with the score 108-3. George Bacon joined captain Kelsall as night watchman and the pair navigated the remaining overs, closing on 114-3, Kelsall unbeaten on 46.
