England captain Andrew Strauss reflected on his return to form following a resounding victory over the West Indies at Trent Bridge.
The home side took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series and, in doing so, ended the West Indies unbeaten record in first class cricket in Nottingham.
"West Indies played some really good cricket but thankfully we were able to show a little bit more consistency and I'm delighted to have won the series," said Strauss.
"I'm delighted to be back in the runs because it's a lot easier when you feel in form.
"You kind of ride on the crest of a wave for a bit when you have got a hundred or two. The key for me now is to make sure that wave lasts for a long time."
England expect to face a sterner test when South Africa visit for the second series of the summer and Strauss has hinted that front line players may be rested for the third Investec Test at Edgbaston.
"We've always got to look at the workload of our bowlers in particular," said Strauss.
"Unfortunately the schedules for the next 18 months are pretty hard, so it's going to be hard for bowlers to play in every match.
"Whether this next Test match is an opportunity or not is something we're going to have to sit down and decide."
