Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club have partnered with Sport981 to provide a course designed to equip participants with the skills and experience needed to launch a career in strength and conditioning instruction.

The £4,400 course will see participants work alongside the Club’s professional and age group players and is designed to prepare sports science graduates for the rigours of a career in professional sports coaching.

“A sports science degree equips you with the knowledge of what needs to be done to enhance performance but the role of a strength and conditioning coach is to put that into practice and our course bridges that gap,” said Ian Hall, Director of Sport981.

“Strength and conditioning is now seen as a vital part of the journey for a professional athlete and there is a demand for candidates with relevant skills and experience in the job market.”

The scheme has already proved successful at Trent Bridge where course participants have increased the volume of support given to professional players in there off-season programmes and match preparation.

The deadline for applications is Friday 20 September with interviews to be held on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 September.
