Notts Outlaws spinner Graeme White has checked in ahead of Monday's Yorkshire Bank 40 semi final against Somerset.

White is currently on loan with Northants, but the agreed deal means he is still able to represent Notts in their YB40 match, and the final should they make it to Lord's.

However, an injury has forced him back to Trent Bridge earlier than expected this week as he bids to return to fitness for the kncokout fixture.

“I suffered a back spasm in the warm up, so it’s pretty stiff at the moment,” he said.

“I’ve got a few days of rest and treatment ahead of me, but I’m optimistic of being available for selection on Monday.”

Somerset arrive on Monday, with both sides eyeing a trip to Lord’s on 21st September for the final, and silverware beyond that. Both teams boast strength in batting, which is sure to make for an excellent spectacle at Trent Bridge.

“It’s going to be a good match,” said White.

“There are a lot of people looking to make up for the disappointment of the t20 quarter-final, everyone wants to put it right.

“We want to fulfil our potential, and I think our squad deserves a trip to Lord’s for the final.”

White has found himself in a curious position, his loan spell at Northants, his second of the season, means he could play a part in their promotion into the LV=CC Division 1, and his availability for Notts’ YB40 campaign means he could be toasting silverware for two different sides in the same month.

“If I get the call, I’m happy to play for either county,” he said.

“Of course, I’m a Notts player and I want to win silverware. I’ll give everything while I’m here to push for selection, and do my best to get us to Lord’s.

“I performed well with the white ball, especially in the t20 matches and I’m keen to continue from there.”

Notts Outlaws started the YB40 competition in blistering form, handing out heavy defeats to opponents during the early stages and while their attempts to qualify for the semi-finals stuttered, they will be I confident mood ahead of the fixture.

“It’s what we’ve all been working toward, we’ve wanted to go all the way since day one and that hasn’t changed at all,” said White.

“It would be a big achievement for the club, and the players too.

“Since I’ve been back around the lads this week, you can see their excitement, it’s certainly in their minds and they’re determined to go out there and perform.

“If I can get myself fit and get the nod too, I’ll do my best to make sure we get to Lord’s.”
