Nottinghamshire’s second eleven secured a three-wicket win, after entering the final day of their friendly against Essex requiring 92 to win with seven wickets in hand.
Sam Wood and Adam Tillcock started the morning at the crease, the pair enjoying a 67-run stand before Tillcock edged behind off Craddock. The score at that stage was 95-4, with Wood nicely set on 46. Matt Cross left without adding to the total, before Wood reached his 50 off 67 deliveries in the next over.
Franks was trapped for 2, and Brett Hutton was caught off Craddock to leave Nottinghamshire 117-7, still requiring runs but a stroked boundary from Simon Webster sealed victory for the visitors, 121-7. Nottinghamshire sealed a three wicket win, with Sam Wood high-scoring with an unbeaten 56.
