Steven Mullaney has committed his future to Nottinghamshire by agreeing to extend his contract until the end of the 2017 season.
Mullaney joined Nottinghamshire from Lancashire ahead of the 2010 season and played a key role in the Club’s LV= County Championship success in his debut season.
“Steven has become an important player for us and we’re pleased that he was keen to commit what we will hope will be the peak years of his career to Nottinghamshire,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“He has a big role to play in white ball cricket and he’s determined to fight for his place in our championship team in the face of increased competition for places.”
Mullaney began his Nottinghamshire career in the middle order before volunteering to open the batting when Newell’s options were curtailed by injuries and international call-ups.
He excelled in the 2013 season when he was crowned Nottinghamshire’s Player of the Year.
“I love this club, they gave me an opportunity in 2010 when I wasn't really going anywhere with Lancashire and I've made Trent Bridge my home,” said Mullaney.
"There are good people here, from the lads in the dressing room, to the coaches and everyone around the ground.
"This is a really good team and I can see us going on to win trophies in the next few years, and I wanted to be a part of that, and a part of Nottinghamshire."
