Nottinghamshire's Alex Hales and Samit Patel are two of ten English players named in the auction for this year's Indian Premier League.
Both will be entered into the highest price bracket in the auction, a base price of Rs 20 million (roughly $320,000), among the likes of Ashes winners Mitchell Johnson & Brad Haddin and Jacques Kallis.
Hales and Patel both enjoyed excellent seasons in white ball cricket with the Notts Outlaws, Patel providing a matchwinning performance in the Yorkshire Bank 40 final at Lord's in September. Hales is currently ranked the number one T20 batsman in the world according to the ICC rankings, following a succession of excellent showings for the national side against New Zealand and Australia.
The other English players entered in the auction are Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Jade Dernbach, Craig Kieswetter, Eoin Morgan, Dimi Mascarenhas, Azhar Mahmood and Luke Wright.
Both Hales and Patel have a clause in their contract with Nottinghamshire which allows them to play in the competition subject to them both fetching a top-bracket price in the auction.
The auction is set to take place on 12 & 13 February in Bangalore.
