Academy captain Paul Franks is hoping the rain will stay away tomorrow as his side look to pick up a positive result against Radcliffe-on-Trent.
After the Bank Holiday Weekend fixtures were ravaged by rain, Nottinghamshire Academy sit fourth bottom of the Notts Premier League with their opponents second bottom.
Franks thinks the elusive victory isn’t that far away and is looking for his side to stick together through their tough run.
“I think the issue so far has been inconsistency in our batting whereas our bowling has been our strongest suit so far this season,” he said.
“The academy setup is all about improving players but so far this season our performances have been inconsistent and tomorrow is the time to change that.”
Recently promoted Radcliffe have found going hard on their return to the Premier League but Franks doesn’t want to get complacent.
“They are finding their way in the Premier League which is obviously a tough task for a youthful side," he said.
“However, they have a good captain in Dave Lucas who has plenty of county experience and he will be looking to rally his troops ahead of an important weekend for his side.
“We will have to put in a complete performance which we aren’t too far away from in order to get the crucial win.
“If we perform to the level we can I think it is a realistic aim to walk away tomorrow with 20 points under our belts.”
