Nottinghamshire batsman James Taylor has backed his former Leicestershire teammate Greg Smith to succeed at Trent Bridge.
Taylor played alongside Smith during his time at Grace Road
"He's a talented batsman with an excellent temperament and he'll offer us a lot in all forms," said Taylor.
"He's proved that he can bat for long periods of time in the championship and he's been explosive in white ball cricket as well.
"Anyone that has score a hundred in T20 cricket commands respect and his innings against us last season was outstanding."
Taylor has excelled since making the well-trodden path from Grace Road to Trent Bridge and belives that Smith can also prove himself n the top tier.
"Greg works very hard on his game and he improved a lot in recent years," said Taylor.
"He'll add a lot to the squad and I'm sure he can be successful at Trent Bridge."
